Augustana POSSIBLE Financial aid program that meets 100% of demonstrated financial need toward direct costs of tuition, fees, housing and meals for qualifying newly enrolled students.

• Transfer students may be eligible with a cumulative 3.5 GPA, 12 college credits after high school, and demonstrate high financial need.
• The Augustana Possible Grant is in addition to all financial aid for which a student is eligible.

Augustana NEXT Dual Admission Articulation Agreement Early access to Augustana advisors, faculty, campus facilities and events.

• Apply concurrently to BHC’s Associate in Arts degree and to Augustana.
• May enroll in two Augustana courses at BHC tuition rates before transfer.
• Automatic admission to Augustana upon earning the AA degree and meeting all Augustana transfer admission requirements.

Black Hawk Scholar Award

A $1,500 scholarship for Black Hawk College graduates that is renewable each year of full-time enrollment.

 

Guaranteed Transfer Admission Program (PDF) Guaranteed admission to Columbia’s Bachelor of Arts degree programs.

• 24 transferable credits; 2.5 GPA on all transferable coursework taken at BHC; passed ENG 101 and ENG 102 with ‘C’ or better; college-level math proficiency; and finished high school or earned a GED.
• 2.75 GPA qualifies for the admission scholarship which is renewable annually. A higher GPA and/or a completed associate degree qualify for increased scholarship amounts.

Panther Pledge Guaranteed admission program to the university to complete a bachelor’s degree after earning an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree (choice of major not guaranteed).

• Must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA and 2.0 GPA from the last institution attended.
• EIU agrees to accept all college-level credit completed at your community college in accordance with current transfer and articulation policies and processes.
• Students could win a $2,000 EIU scholarship by attending the Transfer Open House.

Full funding for tuition and fees. The AIM HIGH Scholarship program is a pilot program by the State of Illinois to encourage Illinois students to attend an in-state university, improve college affordability, and reduce student loan debt. Awards fill the gap between cost and other financial aid sources.

• Illinois’ 12 public universities offer their version of the scholarship often called an “Aim High,” “Commitment” or “Promise” program. For complete scholarship benefits and eligibility requirements, contact each university’s financial aid office or admission representative. Start at BHC and transfer!

Redbird Promise Guaranteed admission program to the university to complete a bachelor’s degree after earning an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree (choice of major not guaranteed).

• Complete Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree prior to ISU enrollment.
• Must have a minimum cumulative 2.4 GPA in all transferable academic coursework at all colleges and universities attended and be in good academic standing at BHC.

Community College Partnership Successful completion of an Associate in Arts degree allows students to transfer with junior status, having met all first-year and sophomore-level general education requirements for programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and Ivy College of Business.

• CLAS programs require specific numbers of credits in humanities and in natural sciences.
• Ivy College of Business programs require credits in ethics and in global perspectives.

Biology Transitions Program A grant up to $10,000 for three years to complete a major in the Department of Biology. Must first be accepted for admission to the university.

• To be eligible to apply for Transitions funding: have a 2.75 cumulative GPA; be a citizen or national of the United States, alien admitted as a refugee, or alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence; and have demonstrated financial need.

MTI and BHC Partnership

If you graduated from MTI since October 2018 with certain MTI certificates, BHC will accept transfer credits toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Health Information Management or General Occupational and Technical Studies (GOTS).

Articulation Agreement For the AAS and AA degrees approved in the agreement, NLU guarantees admission to a related bachelor degree program.

• Must graduate from BHC with cumulative 2.0 GPA. May transfer up to 80 BHC semester credits.
• All college-level courses required to complete the specified BHC associate degree will be transferred into the bachelor’s program in their entirety, subject to each NLU program’s grade restrictions.

Community College Partner Program Full-time Black Hawk College employees are eligible for a 15% discount for NLU programs. Some program exceptions may apply.

 

Direct to Success Program & Scholarship A career-focused, affordable and supportive bachelor’s degree pathway for community college transfer students. A scholarship equal to 25% of total tuition.

• For the scholarship: must graduate with a BHC associate degree (AA, AS or AAS); have a minimum 2.0 GPA; and apply to NLU within one year of BHC graduation. For part-time students to fully benefit from the scholarship, the NLU degree must be completed within three years of starting NLU courses.

Community Heroes Scholarship Valued at 15% of total tuition* applicable to undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

*For military students, tuition rates vary based on program.

Heroes are:

• Military: Veterans and active-duty members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
• First responders: Federal, state and local law enforcement personnel; firefighters; emergency medical technicians and paramedics; and U.S. licensed or certified patient care workers.
• Family members: Spouses or dependent children of the qualifying Heroes listed above

Guaranteed Admission Agreement Guaranteed admission to the university to complete a bachelor’s degree (choice of major not guaranteed). Receive NIU academic advising prior to transfer.

• 2.0 GPA on all transferable coursework at all colleges and universities attended; complete 24 transferable credits; expected to complete general education requirements of the intended major; and earned a high school diploma or GED. Must be in good standing at BHC at time of transfer.
• 3.3 GPA guarantees admission to the University Honors Program.

Chiropractic Articulation Agreement (PDF) Follow the AS degree curriculum in the agreement to complete the first two years of the Bachelor of Science in General Science (B.S.G.S.).

• Completing the B.S.G.S. positions the student to apply to the Doctor of Chiropractic.

Articulation Agreement (PDF) A completed Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree and 2.0 GPA satisfy the majority of SAU general education requirements.

• Up to 64 semester credits may be transferred and applied toward the bachelor’s degree.

Black Hawk Scholarship Up to $20,000 per year of undergraduate studies at SAU. For students transferring directly from BHC to SAU.

• Must enroll full time at SAU and select an in-person undergraduate program.

Dual Admission Program & Scholarship Access to transfer advising and early transfer admission orientation programs. Receive a St. Ambrose student ID allowing access to SAU activities, clubs, events, and facilities. Eligible for a $1,000 scholarship when full-time studies begin at SAU.

• Complete dual admission application before completing 30 credits at BHC; maintain 2.0 GPA.
• Enroll as a transfer student at SAU within three academic years of signing an intent for Dual Admission.

Guaranteed Admission Agreement (PDF) Guaranteed admission to the university to complete a bachelor’s degree (choice of major not guaranteed).

• Graduated from high school or completed a GED, and completed 12 transferable college credits.
• Participate in the admission program for at least a year before or upon completing 30 credits at BHC.
• Maintain 2.0 GPA on all course work from all colleges attended.
• Enroll as a transfer student at SAU within three years of initial BHC enrollment.

Saluki Step Ahead Online Program and Scholarship (SSAOP) Upon meeting SIUC’s transfer admission requirements, automatic admission to the university and to specific 100% online completion majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Criminology, History, Psychology and Healthcare Management.

• The program is intended for students who complete the Associate in Arts degree and follow the 2+2 curriculum plans included in the Program. Students will transfer to SIUC with junior status.
• $4,000 monetary award for the first year of full-time attendance at SIUC and $4,000 for the second year of full-time attendance.

Guaranteed Admission Partnership & Scholarship (PDF) Guaranteed admission to the university to complete a bachelor’s degree (choice of major not guaranteed).

• Must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA and successfully completed 67% of all courses attempted.
• Trinity will award a $1,000 renewable GAP Scholarship to full-time students which is additional to other financial awards (except not additional to the full tuition Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship). Must have completed 12 credits from BHC.
• Under the GAP, Trinity will accept up to 75 community college credits. Completing the AA or AS degree before transfer is strongly preferred. Students are awarded junior status when completing the AA or AS with at least 60 transferrable credits.

Transfer Guarantee Guaranteed admission to the University of Illinois location of student’s choice, though not to a specific college or major.

• Enrolled only at an Illinois community college after graduating from an Illinois high school.
• 3.0 GPA in all transferable coursework completed at the time of application to the university.
• 36 graded, transferable semester hours at the time of application to the university.
• Satisfied the university’s English language proficiency requirement.
• Observe the application fee, process and deadlines for the university location you wish to attend.

Nursing: RN to BSN / Dual Admission Pathway Dual admission pathways are available for current high school students, current BHC Associate Degree Nursing students, and working RNs. The BSN completion program is 100% online with support services available locally in Moline.

• Apply to UIC’s BSN degree for dual admission.
• Enroll in identified courses in UIC’s Bachelor of Nursing while also enrolled in BHC’s Associate Degree Nursing, or are completing UIC-required general education courses at Black Hawk.
• A 2.7 GPA is required for admission to BHC’s Associate Degree Nursing. UIC requires that a 2.5 GPA be maintained on all coursework.

Transfer Admission Agreement – College of ACES (Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences) Guaranteed admission to UIUC and the Colleges of ACES (specific majors not guaranteed).

• Must meet and complete all requirements and documents included in the agreement, and all university general transfer admission and enrollment requirements. The transfer GPA and required university and program-specific pre-transfer courses are identified in the UIUC Transfer Handbook.

Articulation Agreement Letter (PDF) A completed Associate in Arts degree meets all general education requirements for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, Tippie College of Business, and University College. Students still must meet the respective college’s World Language requirement, and Diversity and Inclusion requirement.

• Minimum 2.5 GPA on all graded arts and sciences courses acceptable for transfer.
• Junior status granted upon transfer.

Tuition Advantage Provides a discount on out-of-state tuition for eligible new freshmen and transfer students from Illinois and Iowa. It is offered only at the UW-Platteville campus and also does not apply to students in fully online programs. This scholarship is guaranteed for students who meet eligibility criteria and requires no additional application.

Transfer Commitment Scholarship  $2,500 per year awarded to eligible transfer students (Macomb, QC or online).

• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA; enroll part-time or full-time in WIU undergraduate courses (six semester hours minimum).  Award is renewable.
• Available for domestic students only.
